My Sashiko Denim got a stain from auto oil (while I was in a quick auto fix). I regretted a bit that I shouldn’t be lazy to not to switch the pants,But then, later on and now, I feel it is how Sashiko Denim should be like. The Denim developed as working cloth and Sashiko as the culture to mend the fabric. I will let it be to see how it turns out.
☆
Many people would like to “display” Sashiko because of its tremendous amount of hand-stitching work and possible high pricing. I understand that. However, the real beauty of Sashiko exists in the ordinary days, in using “it” like this denim. It is the core of beautiful (visual) mending. I hope we can spread this beautiful mindset. Caring and appreciating what we have can wealth our life, just a little bit but surely a little bit. ☆

After a lot of reading someone’s story & conversation within myself, I now ask only one thing to avoid Cultural Appropriation (C/A) in Sashiko – it is “acknowledgement”. Please do not ignore the stories & people behind the words. I hope it isn’t too much to ask… Otherwise, a culture…

Thank you for your reactions to the series of our Sashiko Jackets and Boros. We still have a lot to share, but this is a photo of “off-stage” of photo shooting. Students/artists from FIT in NYC helped us to take these beautiful photos. Thanks to @arielle073 and @theanne. I am…

For some (many), Sashiko is Art. Sashiko may be a craft to enrich their lives. Sashiko may be something to read/find in the book or arhicves, or can be something to keep it mind to learn more. As much as I have my own “understanding” of Sashiko, I respect all…

Lovely either way. Try baby powder layered on overnight then dust off, wash, don’t dry, then soak with dish soap overnight then wash.
