Our Sashiko Story to Your Sashiko Journey

We sincerely appreciate the offers for help in the previous posts. It is our responsibility to maintain our days with Sashiko, and we definitely will share when we are in need of specific help, like a good recommendation for the photographer, (web) designer, and such. ☆
Besides that specific help, the biggest support we could ask you for is to spread the words that “we, SashiCo, exist”. Many craft traditions get discontinued because of the lack of advertising skill (or budget). We are in the same category. Thanks to SNS, we are on the surface on the Internet but we have a super limited budget in terms of business. We would like to keep this account Sashi.Co as more like a “Sashiko, mindfulness and caring” place to share the feelings (as much as we can), and @upcyclestitches will focus on the bit of business perspective. Anyhow, the more people know what we do, the more we can serve to the customer. The more customers we meet, the longer we can go.
☆
There are many suppliers in Sashiko’s market today. We respect those who started the business long time ago with focusing on Japanese textile and Sashiko outside of Japan. At the same time, as Sashiko gets popular, there are suppliers who really do not understand the culture of Sashiko and add Sashiko item to their other products line to enhance the trend. They tend to have a bigger budget for the marketing, and it is our challenge to be competitive with those. Again, therefore, it is very helpful when you spread the words about us and the people who are interested in Sashiko would come & visit us. We believe we have a good selection of “the highest quality” supplies, and we only sell the items we use in our projects. We really appreciate your caring. ☆

Rhythm! Yes, it is rhythm. Thank you for many insightful comments in the post on 10/28. Yes, it is the “Rhythm”. Therefore, I have been sharing the importance of rhythm (rhythmical stitching) since I started sharing Sashiko in English. Check the video 3 days ago. The video shows the rhythm…

I uploaded an article & video about a topic, “Do we make knots in Sashiko & Boro”. We were in the environment that everyone practice overlay stitches instead of knots, so it wasn’t even a question for me to debate which is better. I still believe there isn’t such a…

When I write about the “language” difference, some read it superficially as if I am excluding non-Japanese. They say, “So you are saying we need to be fluent in Japanese to enjoy Sashiko?”. No, I am NOT saying it at all. ☆ You do not need the Japanese language to…
