Our Sashiko Story to Your Sashiko Journey

atsushijp, 2019年1月24日

After I uploaded the Youtube Video “How to use the grip scissors”, I felt a bit of fainting and then took a day off yesterday. (Well, I “tried” a whole day to repair the fridge which failed at the same time as I did). Sashi.Co is a project of one lady (Keiko Futatsuya) with me (Atsushi) supporting with other Sashiko artisans who support Keiko. We aren’t a big company or manufacture, we are a group of people who try to pass down the Japanese Sashiko. ☆
You may not believe most of our activities are done by 2 people, Keiko and I, We would like to ask for helps to make it happen more of the things, but it has been challenging because of the language, specialties (Sashiko skill, knowledge and such), and physical location. In spite of these challenges, we have a pile of things we would like to leave behind us. Any kinds of support from you are very much appreciated. We will keep going. The first goal is to stop working part-time seasonally 😀 ☆

Happy I hope you enjoy stitching today with her. When it comes to stitching, we don’t need to be physically next to each other. The fabric, needle & thread become like an old telephone to communicate to them – not vivid and clear as the Internet Video chat, but something…

My goal is pretty simple and straightforward: I want to pass down the Sashiko we have been practicing with “reasonable” changes (not by Cultural Filtering). One of the outcomes I am proud of is the emergence of rising artisans in Sashiko. Some of the Sashiko Items I use are made…

Thank you so much for the comments and offer for the help. The most help you could do for us is to “care” that someone caring is behind this. When we all care each other, when we can imagine things for the others, the world would be somewhat easier place to live. I will reply one by one after sleep a bit. Thank you.
