Thank you for reading the article about my question “Is Sashiko (Fine) Art?”. I came to the conclusion that I would like to introduce the perspective of Sashiko as the Folk Art. This conclusion is as the “Maker(Stitcher)” of Sashiko. It is another story when an artist use Sashiko and Sashiko items to make their own visual (&Fine) Art. Thanks to Paulina, my understanding to art is getting better and better. This photo is an art with Sashiko jacket made by Keiko & Paulina’s creativity.

「刺し子は芸術か？」というテーマで文章を書いてきましたが、なんだかんだで結論が出た気がします。個人的には「刺し子は民藝の趣旨を引き継ぐべきだ」と思っていますが、それとは別に現代の芸術家が刺し子を取り入れてくれる可能性もあるわけで。そして、それはもうアートなわけですよ。淳のワークショップの後、「作品を写真として撮らせて欲しい」との依頼を受けて、ビジュアルアートとして作って頂きました。ここまで来ると芸術だよなぁ。素晴らしい。ありがとう。
