Winter is coming.

atsushijp, 2018年11月28日

Winter is coming.
I realize that a cartain would be a nice idea to insulate the house better. So, I am patchworking the white fabric I used to use for the decorating the table and some of the torn & ripped Pajamas I had (and kept for some reasons).
☆
It is much easier to go to the store and get the appropriate sized fabric. However, I prefer to upcycle and repurpose the fabric I was about to throw away. Let’s see how it turns out.
☆
By learning Sashiko in the workshop, you can make these patchworking much faster. When the patches are complicated, sometimes, hand-stitching can be faster than machine stitching. I also share the mindset of Sashiko besides the techiniques. The final workshop for 2018. Don’t know when I will be back in 2019 yet. I hope you can catch this opportunity.

Technology has made us rush – we need to be quick in this society. As we all benefit from it, it may be “too quick” in some areas. On SNS, one asks a question, and another almost immediately answers it. One is happy to receive “the answer”. Another is happy…

When I write about the “language” difference, some read it superficially as if I am excluding non-Japanese. They say, “So you are saying we need to be fluent in Japanese to enjoy Sashiko?”. No, I am NOT saying it at all. ☆ You do not need the Japanese language to…
