I found the very similar hole on the same spot on my sock… Doing “reinforcing stitching” on the part of fabric we use aggressively. ☆
Practical Stitching with the purpose. It is the origin of Sashiko. I, of course, will add another patch on the sock and see how it will go. You know the result, though. It will be a type of Boro 😀

I will be offering the workshop in NYC, 12/8&12/9, to share the beauty of Sashiko, technique and culture from Japanese tradition. ☆
衣類&繊維はとても正直です。靴下、全く同じ場所に穴があきました。補修したパッチが剥がれたのではなく、似た穴が同じ場所に。もちろん、再度補修します。布に負担がかかるところを補修する。刺し子の基本のような気がしています。突き詰めると、どうなるんだろうか(笑)
