This is our “first” time to make Boro together in the same space (room). When we were working for the Sashiko business, our main task was to “run” the company. After we end up living over the national boarders, even when we see every 2 years or so, I had spent all of my time in taking care of my child.

I explain “what Sashiko is” on Livestreaming and Website. Simply speaking, “the communication through the fabric and thread” is the origin of Sashiko & Boro making. It is so fun to share the same space with same value, and share the all kinds of emoition. Enjoyable Sashiko. This is the Sashiko how it was in the past, and it is the Sashiko I would like to share. ☆
妻が時間を作ってくれて、恵子さんと二人での「布と語り合う時間」を持つことができました。母親が込めた布へのメッセージを、僕が解釈して刺し子をする、襤褸を作るプロジェクトです。

実は二人で、同じ空間を共有して襤褸を作るのは初めてなのです。親父が亡くなる前は、二人の仕事は主に「会社を回すこと」で、その後は一緒に時間を過ごすことも限られ、2年に一度会うことがあっても、多くの時間は子育てに費やされてしまっていて。

配信やブログで「刺し子とは」なんてぎゃーぎゃー言ってますが、これが原点だと思っています。布と糸と遊び心で楽しむ。その作業が共有できる人がいて、お互いに喜怒哀楽を感じられるのが、一層楽しい。きっとそれだけの話なんです。昔の刺し子も、芸術と言われる襤褸も。残り24時間の空間共有です。楽しみます。
