A good Boro shines so good in natural sun light. She is super-cool-grandma :D. Upcycle the vintage (to be trash) fabric and create the one she feels “it is cool”.

One of Atsushi’s mission is to tell a story. Sashiko was so ordinary for the Japanese, and there aren’t many stories left behind. I talk a lot & I write a lot. However, the actual super cool Boro do not require the words. When we see it, it explains by itself. I am so happy to learn from the one who can create “that”. She may be walking in TriBeCa Area, NYC, tomorrow during Atsushi’s workshop. If you see her, say hello for me.

やっぱり襤褸は太陽の光が似合います。
自分の母親に言うのも変ですが、これだけカッコいい60歳って、なかなかいないですよね。布を蘇らせて、自分なりの「カッコいい本物」を作り、そして着て楽しむ。

説明が長く、良く言えば物語を伝えるような僕の立ち位置と違い、本物を作れる恵子さんの作品は言葉はあまり必要ありません。2年ぶりだけど、やっぱり実物見ると、「あー、うん。だな。」ってなります。流行りの刺し子ファッションが軽く見えてしまう（悪いって言ってるわけじゃなくてよ）。
