A follow-up for the socks I had mended last Spring. The socks are for the winter

atsushijp, 2018年11月11日

A follow-up for the socks I had mended last Spring. The socks are for the winter, so I started wearing them heavily in last few weeks. The more I wear them, the thread integrate to the fabric. It is the beauty of Sashiko thread: to be the part of fabric instead of tearing the fabric more.
☆
I don’t know if this is the fashion. I don’t even know if this is cool or not. If my mother in law looks at this, she may cry for sadness to me (that her daughter – my wife – doesn’t let me purchase a pair of new socks. lol). ☆
I would like to keep this a bit strange social experiment. This time-rich mending was very ordinary practice all over the world before this society get so rich in mass-producing.
☆

I am so tired of socks having one tiny whole while the rest of the sock is so intact. Ive been collecting all of our socks with holes and wanted to sew all of them. It pisses me off that all socks have to have a stupid whole on the heel/big toe so fast. FIXED-SOCK-REVOLUTION. :D. Rawr.
