I repaired my Boro wallet before the workshop in NYC with Eileen Fisher for this weekend. It was too torn and damaged, and I added another stitching to make it more Boro look.

People had to do Sashiko to survive. Then the result of repetitive Sashiko is Boro. It is my honor to follow these steps to recreate boro in this society. Once Boro was a sign of proverty, now, Boro advocate how much we care, then became fashion. Interesting.

今週末のNY出張前に、流石にぼろぼろになりすぎた愛用の財布を再度修復。もともと古布をしようした作品だったのですが、そこに藍染め布で修復して、一層襤褸っぽい雰囲気を出せている品になったと思います。糸と布がくりなす雰囲気。貧乏の象徴が、お洒落になりうるんだから、本当に面白いです。
