I see some discussions of what “Sashiko” is. I don’t have the universal answer to that question because Sashiko was too ordinary for the Japanese to define. Regardless, I love this kind of Sashiko, the Sashiko made with continuous cares to someone who is important to you.

先程紹介した「恵子さんのアート」。全体像の写真を見つけられたので紹介です。拡大写真も。決して「綺麗（針目の大きさが一緒で揃っている）」な刺し子ではないけれど、でも、こんな刺し子が大好きなのです。「刺し子とは？」という話はいろいろあるけれど、「大切な人を想う刺し子」が一番素敵だと思います。
