A Sashiko Thread package from Japan!
This time, Keiko included “miracle Indigo Dye” Sashiko Thread.

Well. This miracle thread is categorized as “failure” because we cannot keep offering it continuously. However, for using it, it has beautiful green-indigo shade in variegated.

It is difficult to sell online.
Yet, I will use them and bring them to the workshop in NYC.

I would like to remind – Sashiko is(was) an ordinary practice developed in the ordinary. Therefore, the extraordinary is(was) not common in Sashiko. We define “extraordinary” differently – some may think Sashko itself (as the result of days of hand-stitching) is already the extraordinary (unbelievable) practice. ☆ What I mean…

Besides creating Sashiko Art Pieces, creating Boro is a part of our activities. We learn from the Beautiful Boro found in the antique market, and try to recreate the Boro by patching and repairing the small pieces of Boro. Interesting Challange to appreciate the fabric and culture. 2017-08-26 19:11:01…
