I answer that “Sashiko is a process of appreciating the fabric, and adding our care into it. ”
Boro is an ultimate result of Sashiko.
We made it like a placemat and table runner. Totally one of a kind. 「刺し子とは？」
との質問に、「布を大切に想い、手を加える工程」と答えるようになりました。刺し子はプロセスであって結果じゃない。
そんな刺し子の温かい工程が詰まったのが襤褸なんじゃないかと。作品風に襤褸を仕立てています。こういうのもあり。

It was such a great time stitching together with Keiko. The Boro we started “Sashiko-ing” together is now in my hands. It is exciting to do the Boro-Making with communicating to the fabric as well as what Keiko tried to do. ☆ We will go back to the regular routine….
